Data Engineer (Manager / Member)
Background
Strengthening the data platform that supports more sophisticated products and faster decision-making is an urgent priority at bitFlyer. As trading data grows and analytical needs become more advanced, we are building the foundations to accelerate data utilization across the company. In this position, we are looking for a data engineer to build and operate reliable data pipelines, maintaining the data platform and promoting its use.
Responsibilities
Designing, building, and operating data pipelines that collect, process, and store data from various sources
Designing and maintaining platforms for data analytics and machine learning (ETL/ELT, DWH, data lakes, etc.)
Designing and optimizing workflows for batch and real-time processing
Building mechanisms to improve data quality management and observability (monitoring, alerting, and visualization)
Defining requirements and specifications in collaboration with business and analytics teams
Scope of change in duties: After joining, you may be reassigned to any duties designated by the company.
- Required Skills & Experience
■Japanese (conversational level)
■Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating data processing platforms or data pipelines (3+ years)- Preferred Skills & Experience
■English (business level)
■Experience building data platforms in cloud environments (AWS Glue, EMR, BigQuery, Databricks, etc.)
■Experience with distributed processing frameworks such as Spark and Flink
■Experience implementing real-time data streaming with Kafka, Kinesis, etc.
■Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing using Python, Scala, Java, etc.- Who We Are Looking For

- Salary
■Expected annual salary: ¥6,000,000–¥12,000,000
※Includes a fixed overtime allowance for 45 hours per month
※Determined based on experience, skills, and most recent annual compensation
■Monthly salary breakdown
Base salary: ¥369,800–¥739,800
Fixed overtime allowance: ¥130,200–¥260,200 (for 45 hours)
※If fixed overtime hours are exceeded, additional premium pay is provided for overtime, late-night, and holiday work
※Performance-based bonuses are paid separately- Working Hours
■Employment type: Full-time (no fixed term)
■Probation period: 6 months (no change in working conditions during probation)
■Working hours: 9:00–18:00 (flextime system; core time 10:00–16:00)
■Break: 60 minutes (provided during working hours)
■Overtime work: Yes
